Olympus XZ-1 – An Exploration
The Olympus XZ-1 Digital Camera became available in 2011, although there was documentation and hearsay a long time before that. Olympus was pretty successful at getting photographers fascinated with this new and evidently revolutionary digital camera as Olympus has a nice reputation in the camera world. Now that it is finally on the market, we can review it and make a decision about how good it actually is.
Eighteen scene modes are offered with the Olympus XZ-1 so you will be able to take great pictures in a wide variety Some unusual choices for additional control are offered on the XZ-1 in addition to the more traditional portrait, sport, and landscape settings. For instance, two images can be combined into one photo using Multi Exposure. You could use photography software to do this, including Photoshop, but you can create it easily using the XZ-1. Removing blemishes and making skin appear smoother is one of the features called e-Portrait. The XZ-1 is a great way help things look better than they are in person!
One of the things that makes the XZ-1 so convenient is its size. It’s definitely a compact camera that fits easily into your hand. This makes it easy to carry around with you no matter where you may want to take some pictures. If you like to film underwater, for instance, you could buy an underwater case made specifically for the XZ-1 that will make it completely waterproof. The XZ-1 is actually capable of shooting quality photos underwater, as it has Underwater White Balance. However, you’ll need the Underwater Case in order to make use of this feature.
The Olympus XZ-1, as we’ve noted in this review, has an impressive array of features that allow you to take quality pictures in any setting. The compact size combined with the surprisingly fast lens makes this an innovative digital camera. On the other hand, it’s priced at a point that might make it less attractive to those just starting out with photography. The XZ-1 has a lot to offer, and whether it’s right for you depends on whether or not you need a digital camera of this caliber.
